More rain - 3/28/26

More rain this past week has driven up the water levels again. Irondequoit Creek has been over 4 feet for over 30 days. These levels make wading challenging and the fishing even harder. Its a good time to fill up the fly boxes for the better days ahead. 

Local wild trout premier water - 3/21/26

Made the hour drive to the Wiscoy. I had a few hours before the rain and found some fish willing to eat during that time. I was fishing the deeper runs with euro nymphs and connected with several healthy trout in the 15-16" class. 

Fished a local tributary - 3/14/26

This time of year you can find migratory rainbows and steelhead in the Lake Ontario tribs. Some of these tribs have year round populations of wild brown trout which was my quarry for the day. This chrome net- filler was a surprise in between the resident trout
